Florida PIRG Renters RIghts Manual is Being Updated – Coming Soon

Florida PIRG's Renters RIghts Manual aims to answer basic questions for tenants and landlords. The handbook is currently being revised and should be back up on the web by early summer.

The Florida PIRG Renters Rights Handbook

Florida PIRG is currently revising the Renters Rights Handbook due to substantive changes in the law made by the Florida Legislature since the handbook’s last revision. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The handbook will be back up on our website soon. Until then, here are some  resources renters can use.

Resources:

Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Service: You may receive assistance from the Florida Bar Foundation for a nominal fee. Click here for more information. Phone (800) 342-8011, Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Florida Statutes: You may be able to find an answer to your question in The Florida Statutes. But we strongly urge you to consult with an attorney if you have a problem. The relevant section of the code is Chapter 83.

Legal Services: If your yearly household income is low enough you may qualify for legal help from a Legal Services office in your area.
